Andreas Hering | Piano

German pianist Andreas Hering, born in 1983, has studied under the tutelage of Professor Stephan Imorde and Professor Matthias Kirschnereit. He won various prizes in the national German youth music competition “Jugend Musiziert” as well as the Classic Prize of the West German Radio and the Bruno Frey Award 2004.

He also won prizes in various piano competitions as International Louis Spohr Competition in Kassel, International Max Reger Competition in Weiden, Wartburg Piano Competition in Eisenach and Beethoven Competition Richard Laugs in Mannheim. He played with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic during the state festival of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In March 2007, Hering played J. Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 in the Cologne Philharmonie. He is a passionate teacher who has taught in music universities in Rostock and Weimar and who has a permanent teaching position at the Municipal Music School in Iserlohn since 2012.
